Healthy Life
If you’re planning on getting fit then here
is a start off exercise which will give you an idea of just where you’re at in
the fitness world. This exercise is called the Turkish getup, the only piece of
equipment you need is a dumbbell, and I suggest you start out with a small one,
the exercise itself is pretty easy to understand but not so easy to do. Take
the dumbbell in one hand and lay on the floor with the dumbbell held somewhere
above your head relative to your toes. Now comes the really simple to
understand part, keeping the dumbbell above your head, stand up, simple isn’t
it. Now if you can do that 5 to 10 times per side as a single set then you are
pretty fit.
Another great exercise that can be a lot of
fun is what they call medicine ball slams, as well as helping you get fit this
is a great stress reliever, again this exercise is pretty simple, you take a
medicine ball, raise it high above your head, now slam it into the ground at
your feet as hard as you can, repeat this up to 100 times and you will
definitely raise a sweat.
Today nearly all specialists fitness
trainers will always start off with examining your diet, without the correct
diet you are just wasting your time, so making sure you are actually eating
correctly for what you’re planning on doing is definately a critical starting
point to any future exercise regime. Most people actually don’t eat that badly,
what we in the West do wrong most of all is the quantity, not the quality of
our food, we just overeat a lot which is why more than half the population is
now considered overweight or obese.
Getting professional advice before starting
any kind of new exercise regime is pretty important, you’ll need nutritional
advice and medical advice because the last thing you want to do is to over
exercise at the start and give yourself a heart attack, there is an old saying
but it’s very very true, all things in moderation, and at the start of what
will become a serious exercise program you need to start out moderately,
studies have shown that if you come out all guns blazing then you will
generally not follow your plan for very long, the average person only last two
weeks on a new diet or a new exercise regime.
